How to Use

Diffuser

For diffusing Davana essential oil, use 3-5 drops in a small room, 5-8 drops in a medium room, and 8-12 drops in a large room. Optimal diffusion duration is 30-60 minutes, with frequency of 2-3 times daily. Best times of day include morning for alertness or evening for relaxation.

Topical

Adult topical dilution of 2-3% (approximately 12-18 drops per ounce of carrier oil); for children, 0.5-1% (3-6 drops per ounce) and for the elderly 1-2% (6-12 drops per ounce). Recommended carrier oils include jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut oil. Apply to pulse points or areas of discomfort, massaging gently to promote absorption. Allow time for the oil to penetrate the skin.

Inhalation

For direct inhalation, place 1-2 drops on a tissue or cotton pad, and breathe deeply. For steam inhalation, add 2-3 drops into a bowl of hot water, cover your head with a towel, and inhale for 5-10 minutes. Personal inhalers can be prepared by adding 10-15 drops of Davana oil to the inhaler wick and allowing it to absorb before sealing the inhaler.

Safety & Precautions

Safety Guidelines

Perform a patch test before use on sensitive skin; Davana can cause photosensitivity, hence use caution with sun exposure for at least 12 hours post-application. Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy; consult with a healthcare provider if nursing or undergoing treatment. Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Shelf life is typically 2-3 years if stored properly.
