How to Use
For effective diffusion, add 3-5 drops of Spikenard essential oil in a small room, 5-8 drops in a medium room, and 8-12 drops in a large room. Diffuse for sessions of 30-60 minutes, ideally 2-3 times throughout the day, particularly before sleep or during calming activities.
For topical application, dilute Spikenard essential oil to 2-3% for adults (12-18 drops in 1 oz. carrier). For children, a dilution of 0.5-1% is safer, while the elderly may use a 1-2% dilution. Recommended carriers include jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut oil. Massage into affected areas or pulse points, allowing several minutes for absorption.
For direct inhalation, place 1-2 drops on a tissue or apply to your palms and breathe deeply. For steam inhalation, add 2-3 drops infused in hot water and inhale the steam for 5-10 minutes. For on-the-go, consider using a personal inhaler.
Safety & Precautions
Conduct a patch test prior to topical use to check for sensitivities. Avoid sun exposure for up to 12 hours after topical application, as Spikenard may increase photosensitivity. Consult with a healthcare provider if pregnant, nursing, or taking medications. Store in a cool, dark place away from children, with a shelf life of approximately 2-3 years for optimal quality.
